The Association is always looking to form new groups. We will advertise a new activity in our magazine and call for expressions of interest. If enough interest is shown then we arrange for a meeting and from those attending establish a small committee to run the new group. New groups can access various forms of assistance from the Association to help them become established.

Not on a regular basis.  Partners/friends regularly attending ARPA Active Over 50s group activities are expected to join. Partners/friends and prospective members are welcome to visit a group two or three times free of charge before deciding on becoming a member. This is a ‘try before you buy’ policy.

Yes! The only criteria for membership is that you are 50 or over. If you are under 50 and you would like to join then you need to write a letter to the ARPA State Council asking permission. Rarely would anyone be refused membership.

Yes! Membership entitles you to attend any ARPA Active Over 50s group.

Generally to cover the running costs associated with that group. These fees may purchase equipment such as table tennis tables, tennis balls and the rental costs for a hall.

As a non-profit Association your membership fees are collected to meet the costs of running the Association. These costs include, insurance, magazine, office running costs and the salary of one paid employee. Other money is set aside to advertise and promote the Association. The Association does not receive any annual Government subsidy, but groups do seek Grants from the Government and other organisations from time to time.

ARPA Active Over 50s will accept most types of payment; cash, cheque, money order, credit card and direct debit. Check the Membership page for details on how to join.

A single 12 month membership is $31. If you wish to join for three years it will cost you $76. Joint membership is $53 for 12 months and $126 for three years. Most groups also charge a small fee to cover their running costs. Full details can be found on the Membership page.

We have an office in Adelaide at Level 4, 25 Leigh Street. The office is open Tuesday to Friday each week from 10am to 4pm and is staffed by member volunteers and our one paid employee. Our groups are found throughout the metropolitan and country area of the state. Many groups do not have a fixed address for meetings. The Caravan group travel throughout the state and interstate; the bushwalkers walk through the length and breadth of the state, interstate and overseas.
