The ARPA Active over50s photographic group is interested in digital photography. We have planned monthly themes that can be photographed at any time during the month. The member organising the monthly theme will advise members of any special requirements of the photo shoot.
Following the monthly theme we will hold a meeting where the previous months photos can be shown along with a general discussion on the photos taken (if the member wishes to participate). Training can be included and this will also give us the opportunity to have a social gathering for morning tea or lunch.
Communication is mainly by email, so it’s easy to organise meetings and keep in touch. There are no fees involved with the group (but of course you need to be an ARPA Active Over 50s member) and any member can volunteer to organise a monthly theme. These are usually planned for the whole year.
Current members have a range of skills from beginners to reasonably skilled and there is also a wide range of photographic equipment amongst members, ranging from simple point and shoot cameras to SLR cameras with some big lenses and all sorts of other accessories.
Anyone interested in digital photography of any skill and equipment level is welcome to come along – you could learn or teach us! It’s all about doing an interesting hobby and exchanging ideas.
We can now offer advice for inexperienced ARPA member photographers’ with camera settings, meanings of aperture, shutter priority, ISO etc., plus some basic editing of the image – please contact Milan firstname.lastname@example.org
